JANUARY 30
It's been awhile but Logan continues to do well. We've run into some road bumps with his eating but the doctors here want him to take in 32 oz of liquids, which is about 8 more than the doctors at Duke requested. So since Logan doesn't take 32 for most nights he has to be hooked up to TPN, which means that we can't get a port placed just yet.

We're also fighing to get him in the crib. His mother doesn't seem to have a terrible time doing that but when his dad lays him down he wakes right up, stiffins up and starts screaming. After many different methods that failed, we just decided to try the "let him cry" method which seems to be working. But he still wakes up around 4 a.m. each morning and starts to cry. But the second you pick him up and sit in a chair, he falls back asleep. Hm.

He's scheduled to go back to Duke for a week on the third week of February. Megan and her father will be going down while I stay at home to work. It's looking like we've also got a personal flight that will fly us to and from Duke so we don't have to drive. The only downfall is that it's very tentative so there is the possibility that the flight can be cancelled last minue due to weather. We'll try to do daily updates on his test results during that time.

Other than that, there's not much news. We're still working on getting Logan to stand and working on his balancing. He has a hard time standing straight up and often is bent when he does stand up. We have also gotten him to pincer grab tiny foods and put it in his mouth. His hair is also starting to get long enough that you can grab it between your fingers.

JANUARY 7
Just a quick update to let everyone know that Logan's chest X-Ray showed improvement, so they've ruled out the possibility of Pneumonia. So whatever he did have seems to be clearing up. Their main concern is making sure he stays hydrated. Other than that, he's still trucking along despite how he's been feeling.

JANUARY 6
Good news and bad news. The good news is that we're starting to get Logan to stand on his own as long as we hold his hands. So we're hoping that if we keep this up that eventually he'll become a bit more brave and start balancing and then taking a few steps. The bad news is that over the weekend he developed a low-grade fever, runny nose and a cough. The doctors said that there is possibly an infection in his lungs with the possibility of pneumonia. We won't know for sure until later this week - most likely Wednesday - but he will be starting antibiotics soon. I'm not 100% sure on that because I'm sick with a sore throat so I'm away from Logan for the time being. I'll keep updating as I get news.
