DECEMBER 24
Hi everyone.  Sorry that we haven't updated in awhile, and you have my permission to be mad at me, it's my fault.  We've just been relaxing at Mom and Dad's, happy to have a few extra hands around.  The trip was a long one to say the least.  Dad drove the truck hauling a trailer with all of our stuff behind him, he was in the lead since he was the only one who knew where we were going.  Since Dad and our car had walkie-talkies to contact each other, Dave drove in the middle so he didn't somehow get left behind.  Then, bringing up the rear was me with Mom and Logan.  It was sooo nice to have Mom in the car because she kept Logan entertained.  I can't imagine what I would have done with him without her there.  It didn't take us very long to get home, it was only a two day trip.  So we obviously stayed the night in a hotel which was nice.  Logan slept in the bed between Dave and me.  We made it back to Michigan that Sunday around 6 at night.

Things have been going well here.  We have taken him in to see his new doctor, Dr. Mageed, and so far everything is going really well so that makes us feel more comfortable about being away from the hospital.  The new doctor and his nurse are very nice, and I think we're going to like the hospital, it's not Duke, but I guess it will do.  His blood pressure was really low the other day, so he was able to go down on one of his blood pressure medicines, which is nice, maybe we'll be able to get him off of it completely and he'll have one less medicine to take.

We're really excited about Christmas.  Logan won't be able to be around my nieces and nephews right now, but we're going to have Christmas here with Grandma and Grandpa and our cousin Tommy.  Logan has a ton of presents under the tree and I can't wait to let him rip at the wrapping paper, it will be fun.  Then on Friday I am going to go to my sister's house to have Christmas with my nieces and nephews.  Its going to break my heart to leave Logan behind, but I need to see my sisters and my nieces and nephews.  I miss them so much and with all the snow storms that we've been having Stacey and the kids haven't been able to visit like they planned.

Well, that's all for now, I still have some Christmas related stuff to do tonight.  Talk to everyone later.  And keep up the prayers, they seem to be working.

DECEMBER 15
Just a quick update to say that we got back to Michigan fine. Logan actually was better in the car than we expected. And unfortunately, we lost our cell phone - so anyone who's been trying to call us won't reach us. We will most likely be cancelling our contract so that number will go out the window anyways. If you want a number that you can reach us at, e-mail me.

DECEMBER 12
Well, its finally here.  We've got everything packed and we are finally coming home!  We are all so excited.  Grandma and Grandpa say that this is their Christmas present, having him home.  And for Dave and I our present is to finally be home.  I can't wait to be home and see all of our family.  We've got a long ride ahead of us.  Its a two day ride and about 900 miles, but from what Mom, Dad, and Dave say there is some nice scenery, especially the mountains.

We'll have three cars.  Dad is going to be in front with the trailer, then there is going to be Me and Mom in one car, Mom in the backseat with Logan keeping him occupied, and Dave will be in the last car finishing our little caravan.  I can't wait for the morning.  I would go tonight if I wasn't already tired.  I think Logan is ready to get out of here too, he seems to be in a better mood every day and I think he will love being home.  Grandma and Grandpa already have the Christmas tree decorated so that he can pull the non-breakable ornaments from the bottom of the tree from his walker.

Well, that is all for tonight.  We probably won't update until we get back to Michigan, so until then, and to many of you out there reading this, we'll see you soon, love you!

DECEMBER 10
Well, it's official, we are coming home on the 13th!!!!  We are so excited, and can't wait to be back home with our families for the holidays.  Although, sadly there doesn't seem to be a way around the fact that we can't get together with David's family.  The closest people to stay with would be his mother or his brother, but they both have cats, and Logan can't be around them for at least a year.  That is due to a bacteria that is in cat poop.  It could seriously hurt, or even kill him if he is infected with it.  So, for this year it's just phone calls and gift cards.

Speaking of poop.  Oh my God, he is going poop all the time.  I swear he did it twice in two hours yesterday.  It seems that every time we turn around we have a little stinky butt on our hands.  We're going through diapers like crazy.  He's pooping about five to six times a day.  It's quite distracting.  We're washing our hands so much that they're getting red and chapped, we look like we have some horrible infection on our hands.

I know that we're past it, but our Thanksgiving went well.  We bought a honey ham and I did the rest of the "trimmings."  Logan was happy all through dinner and he kept scootching around in his walker, backing himself up into the wall.  It was really nice.  He really liked the whipped cream too, what can I say, we had to share some good stuff with him.

Well, I should go, only 4 days left!!!

DECEMBER 4
Just a very quick update. Logan's double-lumen line was removed and happened without any problems. Probably took only about 15 minutes to take out and patch up. He's got a small bandage covering it - like when you get blood drawn and they put cloth on it held down by a band-aid. So within a few days we'll be able to take it off.

And, his enzyme levels came back in finally. What originally was zero is now in the normal range, so Logan is officially making the enzyme he was lacking, making the transplant a success! We see the doctors tomorrow for a clinic visit and if all goes well we'll start packing to get ready for the big trip back to Michigan.
