NOVEMBER 28
I would guess it was because of the holiday weekend, but Friday's visit was really cut-and-dry. He needed no infusions, and his labs looked good. We didn't know that the pharmacy was going to be closed on Friday so two of his medicines weren't able to get filled. But, one was his appetite medicine and one was to help him with stomach issues. So they weren't really a necessity - so we're going to see how he goes without it for the weekend. If he does good ... then that's two medicines we won't need to worry about anymore.
His Cyclosporine issues seem to be figured out now - and he's still set to have his double-lumen taken out on Thursday. So we'll be at the hospital every day from Tuesday until Friday, but it's for a good reason. Getting that double central-line taken out will be a nice sight to see.
We're still on-track to go hom December 13th. Next week I'll be setting up appointments and insurance stuff with our new doctor at the Devos Children's hospital. Although our doctor didn't mention not going home on December 13th, he still says not to be shocked if we have to stay a little while longer. We think he just doesn't want us to get our hopes up and then have to say that we have to stay longer. I think he will finally say "go home" on December 12, which is when we'll see him last for a long time. |
